Can I use a regular Appliance bulb in a self cleaning oven? When I looked inside the oven, the bulb was covered by a thick looking glass. Do you think I have to replace the whole glass bulb, cover & unit? I don’t want to spend too much so I don’t want to call a appliance service person, I’ll live with a dark oven if I have to replace a unit, I’d love to just be able to replace a bulb. I wonder if because of the extreme heat a reg appliance bulb will burst…. do you know?

Yes after removing the glass a regular appliance bulb will work.

i think most ovens are appliance c bulbs you can find them anywhere.
look on the bulb
regular bulbs can with stand so much heat
an oven gets hotter than your ave. buld unless you are using high pressure soidum or such as i.e. street lamps

Some appliance bulbs yes, just look at the package it should tell you whether you can use it in an oven or not. The cheep ones are usually not good for that.
